This summer the construction and renovation to transform Virginia Hylton Park continues. This is a complete makeover that includes a new entrance, a new playground, walking trails, splash pad, performance pavilion and more. The expansion will add an additional 8.25 acres to the park which nearly doubles the size of it, bringing it to a total of 15 acres. The plan is to open it up in sections as they are completed.
Make sure you come out and enjoy The Market at Icehouse Amphitheater! Each week you can bring the family out to enjoy live music, food trucks and local vendors. Vendors sell a variety of things including fresh produce, baked goods, woodwork, jewelry, pottery, soaps and more. The Market runs each Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. through the end of September, with the exception of July 1.
The Town's Independence Day celebration is on June 30. There is a free concert at Icehouse Amphitheater featuring the 246th Army Band starting at 7 p.m. followed by a fireworks show. You can view the fireworks from anywhere near Main Street.
Be sure to get your tickets for the annual Craft Beer Festival at Icehouse Amphitheater on August 26. Come sip on unlimited samples, listen to live music and more. Tickets are $30 in advance, $40 the week of and $50 the day of the event.
