Summer is in full swing in the Town of Lexington and I encourage you to take advantage of our quality of life amenities.
We are fortunate to have an amazing parks system. Kids can stay cool with a mist fountain at Caractor Park or spray pool at Corley Street Park. While there, pack lunch and enjoy a picnic under the shelters. The entire family can stay active on our walking trails at Gibson Pond Park or Virginia Hylton Park – or host your next family reunion or outing under the BBQ Shelter or Staging Area. For more information, contact the Parks Department at (803) 359-1027.
The Village Market is underway each Saturday, from 9am - 2pm at Lexington Square Park. Make sure to stop by for your fresh produce, dairy, meat, plants, artwork and more.
Also, the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission and the Town are joining forces this month to host a Summer Movie Series (JPG) each Friday evening at the Gibson Road Soccer Complex.
Finally, the Lexington County Blowfish are back in action this summer at Lexington County Stadium. The Blowfish were named the 2015 Coastal Plain League Organization of the Year during their inaugural season. Help cheer on Blowfish as they make another run for the CPL Championship!
There is no shortage of fun happening in the Town of Lexington this summer. I hope to see you and your families out and about enjoying the wonderful quality of life we have to offer!
