March 2011

This winter weather has been a rollercoaster for our community and thankfully, sunshine is on the horizon. Spring is such a wonderful time of the year since it is a reminder of new life blossoming before our eyes... and the Masters Tournament next month.

I hope each of you feel the same way as we introduces new initiatives for 2011, helping the Town of Lexington flourish and grow to a promising future.

As many of you know, our biggest and most reaching project will be our Vision Plan, the blue print to the Town's future. I, alongside Councilwoman Kathy Maness and our Vision Plan team visited our mentor City of Greenville last month, to learn how they helped revitalize Main St. into a thriving epicenter for arts, shopping, dining and entertainment. This tour provided us great insight and proved that we are on the right path to making the Town of Lexington a premier community.

Learn more about the Vision Plan and other initiatives during the State of the Town Address on March 7, 2011 at 6:30pm in Council Chambers. If you cannot be present, you can view the address live on Channel 2 and on our Channel 2 On Demand at See you then!

P.S. I want to extend my sincere apologies to the Utilities Department Staff for overlooking them in last month's Town Topics. They too, did a great job getting the Town back up and running safely during our "Snow Storm". Thanks to All!
