Mayor & Council
The Lexington Town Council is composed of 7 members including the mayor. They are responsible for setting policies, approving budgets, determining tax rates, and determining water and sewer rates.

Town Administrator
The Town Administrator is charged with executing the policies and procedures put forth by the Town Council. The Town Administrator is responsible for the annual consolidation of a proposed budget and the administration of the budget once adopted. The Administrator is also responsible for developing Administrator procedures and for ensuring adherence to these procedures by all departments and employees.

Municipal Attorney
The Municipal Attorney is the legal advisor to the Town Council and may provide legal advice to the Town Administrator, Department Heads and appointed Boards and Commissions upon request. The Municipal Attorney attends all meetings of the Town Council and provides representation regarding all legal matters that may arise during the administration of the Municipal Government. The Municipal Attorney also handles various legal issues, overseeing all litigation involving the Town, and may assist in prosecuting all cases in the Municipal Court.

Municipal Clerk
The Municipal Clerk is the liaison between the Mayor and Town Council and their constituents. The Municipal Clerk is also the custodian of the Town's legislative records and historical documents and liaison to all Boards and Commissions and the Town Election process.

The overall purpose of the Vision Plan is to provide a "roadmap" for development in the Town of Lexington over the next 20 years by prioritizing and leveraging public resources that will attract private sector investment.
