The men and women of the Police Department are committed to the philosophy of community oriented policing and strive to build partnerships in all facets of our community. Through the establishment of exemplary programs and a proactive approach to problem solving, we strive to enhance the quality of life of our citizens and provide the highest possible quality of public service.

Our foremost concern is the protection of our citizens and merchants and the security of their homes and businesses. Our staff consists of 42 personnel, including 38 sworn officers and 4 administrative staff. The Department currently serves a population of approximately 16,000 residents and welcomes the challenge of serving a growing residential and business community. By fostering a spirit of involvement and open communication between citizens and police, we seek to build a partnership with the community we serve.

The Lexington Police Department strives to maintain an exemplary level of professionalism and is a state accredited agency. Members of the public are always welcome to ask any member of the Department for assistance.
