Nearly one year ago is when everything shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic around the world and right here in Lexington. Despite the unique challenges that were presented to everyone over the past year, the Town was able to make progress on projects and we are looking forward to once again getting back to doing community events.
The Icehouse Amphitheater Pavilion is officially complete and it is the newest home for a variety of things hosted by the Town. The open-air building is along South Church Street and it will be where vendors setup during concerts as well as where the Market is held. Our Lexington Live Concert Series starts back in April and the free concerts are every Thursday at 6: 30pm throughout the months of April and May.
On Saturday, May 8 from 6pm-10pm the Pavilion will host the Lexington Wine Walk. This year, food trucks will have food available for purchase. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 the week of and include a wine glass, wine tasting and live entertainment. To purchase tickets and for more information, visit lexingtonwinewalk.com.
Then The Market at Icehouse Amphitheater will return on Saturday, May 22 and will run from 9am-lpm every Saturday (with the exception of July 3) through the end of September. The Market features local vendors, fresh produce and unique gifts. If you're interested in being a vendor, send an email to email@example.com.
Finally, we expect Gibson Pond Park to reopen soon as crews work on the installation of the bridge and fishing pier. Additionally, work continues to build a one-mile long, lighted walking trail around the Old Mill Pond. Construction on that project is anticipated to be complete in the fall of this year.
