Raise your glass for a toast; the ninth annual Lexington Wine Walk will take place Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 6pm-10pm at Icehouse Amphitheater, with local musical sensation The Going Commando Band.
Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 the week of the event/at gate. Tickets can be purchased online at www.lexingtonwinewalk.com and you must be 21 years or older to attend. Ticket price includes a commemorative wine glass, wine tastings and hors d’oeuvres. Local businesses will serve as exhibitors and restaurant partners during the event, being the official “stops” for your taste buds.
Proceeds from the Lexington Wine Walk will go to the Lexington Beautification Foundation, a volunteer non-profit organization, dedicated to the pursuit of beautifying the scenic and historic community of the Town of Lexington. This year’s funds will be added to the already committed $200,000 for the restoration of Virginia Hylton Park.
Mayor Pro-Tem Hazel Livingston is overseeing the enhancement efforts of Virginia Hylton Park that will ultimately include ten interior parks featuring a teen area, inclusive playground, water activity area and nature trails. The first phase, the Pat Jeffcoat Serenity Park, was dedicated in March.
Town Council’s goal is to improve healthy green spaces within the park while providing safe, playful, social and recreational spaces for all.
I hope to see you “wine down” at this year’s Lexington Wine Walk, while helping to continue to beautify our wonderful community!
