March 2016

The Town of Lexington is excited to welcome a new event, and hopefully a new tradition, in the community. The Lexington County Blowfish will host the inaugural St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 12 at 2pm in downtown Lexington. .

Since arriving in Lexington County last year, the Blowfish have been a staple in the community on and off the baseball diamond.

They were voted the 2015 Coastal Plain League Organization of the Year. The CPL has 16 teams in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. Additionally, the Blowfish made it to the Petitt Cup Playoffs after a 28-28 regular season and upset the number one seed in the West during the first round.

The Blowfish also are great stewards of Lexington County through many philanthropic programs. The 2015 annual Reading Program included 77 elementary schools and over 30,000 students. Also, they supported the Lexington District 1 Educational Foundation with a special themed jersey night, raising over $2,000 for the program.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 2pm and again this summer at Lexington County Stadium to cheer on our Lexington County Blowfish as they strive to bring home the CPL Petitt Cup!
