December 2014

Town Council, staff and I invite you to the third annual Snowball Festival December 5-7, 2014.

The three-day event will kick-off with a Concert, Carnival and Tree Lighting at Lexington Square Park on Friday night from 6pm-8pm and will feature balloon animals, face painting, magic shows, a craft corner, hot cocoa and s 'mores station, live music by Tara Scheyer and the Mud Puppy Band and most importantly, visits with Santa!

On Saturday morning, put on your running shoes for the PattyPacks 5K and Lexington Half Marathon. Proceeds from the 5K will benefit PattyPacks, a 501c3 assisting families with Congenital Heart Disease. That evening, join us at Lexington Square Park from 5pm-10pm for a double feature movie. Pack your blankets and settle in to watch The Polar Express (100 minutes - PG) and A Christmas Story (94 minutes - PG).

Finally, on Sunday, head to Main St. for the annual Christmas Parade, starting at 3:30pm. It is a wonderful way to close out a weekend of festive celebration!

Once again, we are excited to usher in the holiday season with this signature event and showcase our collaboration with the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission and the Lexington Jaycees.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the Snowball Festival. I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
